Why Avenant?

Well, first of all, it is pronounced Ah-veh-nont!

Anyway, one day as I was scrolling through the T.V. at oh, 1 A.M or so, I stumbled upon a foreign film, French to be exact, made in the 1920's. It was subtitled and one of the Characters was named Avenant. It immediately caught my attention and I liked it.
